REVIEWS
The Inspirations – “He Brought Me Out” (1993)
“He Brought Me Out” is my favorite recording by the Inspirations during this time period. It’s a fantastic piece of work that harkened back the “glory days” of the group.
The Inspirations – “Jesus is Coming For Me” (1992)
In 1992, the Inspirations released this recording. It’s an obscure recording during a very transitional time in the group, and one that is very hard to find. Nonetheless, it’s a unique piece of their dynamic history.
The Inspirations – “My Anchor Still Holds” / “The Country Needs the Cross” (1991)
The Inspirations did not release any new music in 1990, but in 1991, they released this highly popular recording, that was eventually picked up by Canaan Records and re-released with a new cover and title. Read all about it…
The Inspirations – “What’s That I Hear?” (1989)
Before 1989 was out, the Inspirations would release a new recording, and it was a spectacular piece of work. Featuring important elements that made the Inspirations who they were, it’s one of my personal favorite recordings by the group.
The Inspirations – “Sunday’s Coming” (1999)
Closing out the decade of the 90’s, the Inspirations released “Sunday’s Coming”, which welcomes 2 familiar faces…Jack Laws and Ronnie Hutchins! Read all about it!
The Inspirations – “Two Shoes” (1998)
This 1998 release featured one of the Inspirations’ best loved songs, “Two Shoes”, a uniquely written story song of faith. Read all about that song, as well as the rest of the recording!

Deliver Us from Evil
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. ~Matthew 6:13 This past week, a man that we used to attend church with was murdered. This has brought up the age-old discussion of, If God could have stopped it, why didn't He? There are things we will never...
Love Them While You Can
In October of 2022, my brother and I were driving home from a speaking event when I realized it wouldn't be very far out of the way to visit a widow friend that I hadn't seen in a few years. I knew my brother would be eager to get home to his family, but I broached...
Doubly Good to You
If you find a love that's tenderIf you find someone who's trueThank the LordHe's been doubly good to you ~Rich Mullins I write a lot about thanksgiving because, for most people, that is not their normal bent. We can receive praise all day long, but it's the person...

We are so blessed by the things You have done,The victories we've won, and what You've brought us through. We are so blessed; take what we have to bring.Take it all everything. Lord, we bring it to you.. If you think about it, the first couple lines of this verse...
Listen to Our Hearts
When words are not enough to tell you of our love Listen to our hearts I've realized lately that "I love you" often sounds insufficient to express how I feel about the people I love. How much harder is it to tell my Savior how much I love Him! I'm glad that the Spirit...
Pray for the Persecuted Church
Voice of the Martyrs has called an International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church today and throughout the month of November. I don't think it was coincidental that my daily Bible reading this morning was Psalm 70. As I read the Psalms, my focus is typically on...
How about You?
In the Bible study Experiencing God, the question was asked, "What did God do to draw you to Himself, specifically?" The answer that popped into my head as I pondered this was a line from an old Happy Goodman Family song: "I came through tribulation. How about you?"...
Pursue Righteousness
Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. ~2 Timothy 2:22 When you think of lust, the first thing that probably pops into your mind is that of a man lusting after a woman, but lust can...
Thankful for Rest

Judas vs. Peter
Then Judas, [Jesus'] betrayer, seeing that He had been condemned, was remorseful and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, saying, “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.” And they said, “What is that to us? You see to it!” Then...
A Slippery Slope
And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you. (Genesis 17:7) In the Book of Genesis, God created a covenant with Abraham, that He...
