I am in awe of God’s mercy and goodness, but I’m also reminded that “to whom much is given, much is required” (Luke 12:48). God doesn’t elevate a person so that the person can become a big shot. Everything He does is so HE can get glory. If you are in ministry, you should be humbled by this fact as opposed to being puffed up.
God opened a big door for me this past week, but as I thank Him for taking such good care of me, I pray that I will also be faithful to praise Him when things do not go my way. You see, trusting God goes both ways. It’s easy to trust Him when things are going well, but when everything is against me? Not so much.
My prayer for all of us is that we will begin to see our Creator for who He is–a God who, in spite of sin, death, and decay, continues to care for His people and provide for them in various ways that He deems best.
