My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me. ~Hosea 4:6
“Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord God, “That I will send a famine on the land, Not a famine of bread, Nor a thirst for water, But of hearing the words of the Lord.” ~Amos 8:11
If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. ~2 Chronicles 7:14
There are people in other countries who long to receive a Bible but are unable to attain one. Here in America, Bibles are plentiful but many never read it and, if they do, it’s the bare minimum they think they have to read in order to be acceptable to God. No wonder so many are walking away from God. As the apostle John said:
They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us. ~1 John 2:19
My heart aches for those who do not know God, especially those who think they know Him. I’ve walked with God for over 30 years, and I still have a lot to learn. But I’m studying to learn these things, and I encourage you to do so too. If you find the Bible to be boring, ask God to change your heart. There is so much life in it if you would open your heart to receive it.
As you celebrate your freedom this week, don’t forget that this includes the freedom to worship the almighty God who created the universe and calls you to a closer walk with Him. Get to know Him now so that your foundation is secure when storms come that would shake you to the core. He is ready to meet with you if you are willing to invest the time needed to build that relationship with Him.
