Loving God’s Law
Oh, how I love your law! It is my meditation all the day. ~Psalm 119:97 I wonder how many Christians can honestly say they love God's law, let alone meditate on it. A love for God's law begins with a love for His Word, yet many struggle to read the Bible, as they...

The Inspirations – “What’s That I Hear?” (1989)
Before 1989 was out, the Inspirations would release a new recording, and it was a spectacular piece of work. Featuring important elements that made the Inspirations who they were, it’s one of my personal favorite recordings by the group.
Love Well
Happy New Year! It's hard to believe we are over a quarter of the way through this century. Those who are old enough remember Y2K and how some thought the world would end. But here we are, closer to the Lord's return and yet still here with work to do until He calls...

The Inspirations – “Twentieth Anniversary” (1984)

The Inspirations – “The Wonder of Wonders” (1983)
For their 20th Canaan album, the Inspirations enjoyed great success with the title song from this 1983 release. It’s one of the more laid-back album, but was a great one, nonetheless!

The COVID-19 Impact on Gospel Music
Coronavirus. COVID19. Wuhan. China. Sorry, just trying to get some keyword impact on my post... Yes, the #1 topic anywhere and everywhere you look is THE VIRUS and how it has impacted life as we know it around the world. In the United States, most states have enacted...

Where Is Your Trust?
"And Asa in the thirty and ninth year of his reign was diseased in his feet, until his disease was exceeding great: yet in his disease he sought not to the LORD, but to the physicians" (2 Chronicles 16:12). A few weeks ago, I reconnected with a friend whom I hadn't...
Don’t Stop the Lyrics
My dad and I attended a small music festival last evening. The opening act was the worship team for a local church. The lead singer had a good testimony, and the songs were all focused on the Lord. Next up was an African children's choir. They were lively and radiated...
Do You Know Jesus?
When asked the title question, I'm guessing everyone reading this would say, "Sure I do." You may go on to explain how you attend church regularly, sing in the choir, read the Bible, pray, etc. But that's not the question. Do you really know Jesus? Do you know who He...
Our God Is …
If I asked you to describe God in one word, what would you say? I expect some would immediately shout out, "awesome," "wonderful," "amazing." And He is all of these things, but I wonder how many would say, "holy," "righteous," "just." Hebrews 12:29 tells us that "Our...

Keep On Keeping On
This is later than I would typically write my Sunday devotional but where I am in Arizona, it is only a little after 6:00 PM. It is also 106 degrees. I would not wish this on anybody. But then I heard it was going to be close to 100 degrees in Michigan too....

Come Worship the King
Still through the cloven skies they come With peaceful wings unfurled And still their heavenly music floats O'er all the weary world; Above its sad and lowly plains They bend on hovering wing. And ever o'er its Babel sounds The blessed angels sing. ~from It Came Upon...
There’s Power in Prayer
I've been thinking lately of some of the prayers that God has answered for me--both recently and in times past. I can also think of some that He hasn't, but I am increasingly convinced of the truth of James 4:2: "You do not have because you do not ask." It's also true...
Thankful for God’s Mercy
In reading through Exodus, I am struck by God's mercy--even to Egyptians who had no regard for Him whatsoever. Emphasis is often placed on the plagues that God sent their way, but more often than not, He warned them of what was to come if they continued to disregard...
