As the congregation sang, “I’m not afraid to show You my weakness,” I paused. That is not a line that I can honestly sing. Although God sees my weaknesses more than anyone, I find myself wanting to please Him just like I do my earthly family, and I forget that I am only, as Legacy Five sang, “Strong in the strength of Someone else.” Humans can be disillusioned when they see weakness in others, but God sees that weakness and finds ways to use us in spite of it.
I don’t know if this is unique to me or if this resonates with you as well, but there are times when the best thing to do is to admit, “God, I am weak but You are strong. Fill me with Your strength so that I can accomplish Your purposes.” Some days, your prayer may simply be, “Lord, help me to get through this day.” The point is that we need our Father so much. He sees your weaknesses and is willing to come to your aid if you would but ask. Stop battling in your own strength, but begin to lean on the Lord. He is more than willing to carry you and assist you in the trials that you are facing.
