Hold On to the Prince of Peace

by | Oct 25, 2020 | Uncategorized

Hold me, Jesus,
For I’m shaking like a leaf
You have been King of my glory
Won’t you be my Prince of peace ~Rich Mullins

I expect that many have prayed this prayer this year. The saying that “the only sure thing is death and taxes” has been felt more vividly although even taxes weren’t as predictable as they usually are.

Our pastor read some statistics this morning which said that 31% of US adults report anxiety or depression symptoms; 75% of 18-25-year-olds report mental health challenges. If you are included in those percentages, I would like to encourage you this morning: God is still on His throne!

I am so thankful to know the One who gives peace beyond understanding. You may have lost your job. You may have a loved one who is fighting for her life right now. Maybe you have been diagnosed with COVID and you’re scared. Rest in your Father’s arms. Ask Him to hold you. In situations where you are not able to control the outcome, trust the Almighty God who promised that He would never leave nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). He is truly with you for better or worse, for rich or for poor, in sickness and in health.

If you still can’t find peace, turn on some encouraging, Godly music and listen to the words. Ask God to lead you to the songs that will calm your spirit. Maybe “Hold Me Jesus” by Rich Mullins would be a good start.

Virtual hugs to you, my readers. Don’t stop fighting the good fight.

The Importance of Bible Reading AND Prayer

When considering if it is more important to pray or read the Bible, I would say they are equally important. Although most Christians seem to find one or the other difficult to do, both are vital to maintaining a close walk with God. We live in a fast-paced society...

This past weekend, I ran book tables at a conference. It had been over a year since I had done that, but since it was a large portion of my life for a number of years, I felt right at home. God has given me the ability to connect with people, and I love doing so. As I...
