“Seek the Lord while He may be found; call upon Him while He is near” (Isaiah 55:6).
“Then the LORD said, ‘My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years’” (Genesis 6:3).
Many have the mistaken idea that they can live how they want, confess everything on their death bed, and everything will be okay. I have heard stories where people finally accepted Christ as they were dying but the majority never get that opportunity and don’t take advantage of it even if it’s there.
There is “a time to be born and a time to die” (Ecclesiastes 3:2). Only God knows in advance when those times will be. You may think you are having fun ignoring Him, doing what you want, but the day will come when you will bow before Him and beg for His forgiveness, and it will be too late.
The Christian life does not need to be boring and dull and lifeless. Quite the contrary. It should be more fulfilling than a life of sin could even dream of being. As the old hymn said, “There is JOY in serving Jesus! (emphasis mine). And that joy will be made even greater when we finally see Jesus face to face.
If you are waiting to seek the Lord, I implore you not to wait any longer. Right now, He is standing at the door and knocking. One day, He will stop, and you might not find Him even though you seek Him with tears. Seek the Lord today. You won’t regret it.
