The Inspirations – “What’s That I Hear?” (1989)
Before 1989 was out, the Inspirations would release a new recording, and it was a spectacular piece of work. Featuring important elements that made the Inspirations who they were, it’s one of my personal favorite recordings by the group.

The Inspirations – “Yes, I Will Be There” (1988)
With this latest release, the Inspirations scaled the instrumentation back to just piano, bass and acoustic guitar. The album had a more rustic feel, but was undeniably “Inspirations”.

The Inspirations – “Tell It To A Friend” (1986)

The Inspirations – “Praise God and Country” (1985)
The Inspirations love this country! They have always been proud to show their patriotism, and this latest album featured the patriotic title song, “Praise God and Country”. This album was a little different than most, but it was a good album overall. Read all about it…
The Inspirations – “Twentieth Anniversary” (1984)
By 1984, the Inspirations were celebrating 20 years as a group, releasing this classy album. One of my personal favorites from this era, it’s a wonderful piece of history from the legendary Inspirations!
The Inspirations – “The Wonder of Wonders” (1983)
For their 20th Canaan album, the Inspirations enjoyed great success with the title song from this 1983 release. It’s one of the more laid-back album, but was a great one, nonetheless!
The Inspirations – “Yes, I Will Be There” (1988)
With this latest release, the Inspirations scaled the instrumentation back to just piano, bass and acoustic guitar. The album had a more rustic feel, but was undeniably “Inspirations”.
The Inspirations – “It’s Still the Blood” (1987)
This would be Ronnie Hutchins’ only mainline release during his brief tenure with the group in the 80’s. It was a great album, with the title song becoming one of the Inspirations’ most loved tunes and one of Archie’s sugar sticks.

For the Forgiven
Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.” ~Luke 7:47 Several members of our church are involved in jail ministry, and because of them, I have seen firsthand the truth of...

May God Be Glorified
As I sit down to write, I wonder if I have anything of worth to say. It's been over a month since my last post, and part of that is due to life being busy, dealing with stressful situations, and yet making time where I can to draw near to God because He is the One who...
According to Your Word
And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her. ~Luke 1:38 I confess that I do not like it when things don't go my way. I may not scream and throw things, but I struggle just the same. I...
A Famine of Knowledge
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me. ~Hosea 4:6 "Behold, the days are coming," says the Lord God, "That I will send a famine on the land, Not a famine of bread, Nor a...
Praise God Even in Adversity
Nebuchadnezzar was a king that God used to punish the Israelites when they had turned their back on Him once again. Instead of acknowledging the God who had given him this position, the king boasted of his abilities until one day God had enough. This arrogant being...
God Will Provide
I am in awe of God's mercy and goodness, but I'm also reminded that "to whom much is given, much is required" (Luke 12:48). God doesn't elevate a person so that the person can become a big shot. Everything He does is so HE can get glory. If you are in ministry, you...
Jesus Is the Resurrection!
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; the one who believes in Me will live, even if he dies. ~John 11:25 This morning, I'm thinking of two friends who passed away recently. One was a church greeter who used to greet us on Easter morning with the...
Judas vs. Peter
Then Judas, [Jesus'] betrayer, seeing that He had been condemned, was remorseful and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, saying, “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.” And they said, “What is that to us? You see to it!” Then...
A Slippery Slope
And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you. (Genesis 17:7) In the Book of Genesis, God created a covenant with Abraham, that He...
God Is in the Darkness
Then they said to Moses, 'You speak with us, and we will hear, but let not God speak with us, lest we die.' ... So the people stood afar off, but Moses drew near the thick darkness where God was. ~Exodus 20:19, 21 Can you relate to the children of Israel? "I don't...
