NEWS OF THE WEEK

The Down East Boys have hired Cayden Howell to fill the baritone spot vacated by Daryl Paschal a few weeks ago. Howell sang previously with the Dixie Melody Boys.

Liberty Quartet’s Board Of Directors announced the resignation of tenor singer Philip Batton effective February 24. The group will use fill-in vocalists until a replacement is hired.

The Old Paths announced they have a new management agreement with Q & Dani Phillips of The Artist Element. Their announcement also mentioned it will be a few more months before they reveal their new group name (originally planned to be announced on December 5, 2022). The new name has been selected.

Horizon Records announced former Gold City/LeFevre Quartet tenor Jay Parrack is starting a solo career with the release of a single today titled “Down In My Heart.” The song came from a session Parrack recorded with producer and former Kingsmen/Palmetto State pianist Andrew Ishee for an upcoming multi-artist recording.

Anyone know what is going on with The Dixie Melody Boys? Earl Roberts left, now Cayden Howell has gone to The Down East Boys and their website is down. Have they called it quits?
