Recent Happenings

  • The Taylors announced they have secured the management services of Mike Wheeler at MC Productions and the booking services of Michael Davis at the Dominion Agency.
  • Singing News announced the winner of their 2017 Ultimate Talent Contest is Exodus from Gadsden, Alabama. Coming in second and third place were Matt Linton of Katy, Texas and Then Came Sunday of Texarkana, Arkansas.
  • Florida-based family group, The Walkers, announced a new recording and distribution agreement with Mansion Entertainment.
  • The Bledsoes announced that soprano Melissa Jenkins Cates is returning to the group. Cates left the group at the end of 2015.
  • Karen Peck & New River announced their guitar player Matthew Gooch is engaged to be married to Preslee Mortenson. The group was on a trip to the Holy Land in Galilee at the Mount of Beatitudes when he proposed.

Remembering

  • Former Crusaders, Rhythm Masters, and Inspirationals bass singer Bob Cameron passed away on July 18. A memorial service was held in Van Alstyne, Texas, on Saturday, July 22.

Trivia Nugget

  • Jake Hess won the Grammy Award for Best Inspirational Performance in 1971 for his version of the song “Everything Is Beautiful.” Ray Stevens won the Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance that same year with his version of the same song.
