NEWS OF THE WEEK
Echoes Of The South by Blind Boys Of Alabama won the Grammy for the Best Roots Gospel Album this week, beating out albums by The Blackwood Brothers Quartet, Becky Isaacs Bowman, Brian Free & Assurance, and the Gaither Vocal Band.
The Mark Trammell Quartet announced that Mark will be honored in a special showcase on Friday, September 27 during the 2024 National Quartet Convention for his 50 years singing gospel music.
Former members of the Singing Americans have announced they will reunite to perform during the Singing At Sea cruise in 2025. Vocalists Michael English, Danny Funderburk, Rick Strickland, Dwayne Burke, Buddy Burton, Scott Whitener, and Mike LeFevre are scheduled to participate. They will be joined by bass guitarist Jeff Easter and pianists Milton Smith, Martin Gureasko, and James Rainey.

Singing News Publisher Rick Francis was released from the hospital this week to continue his recovery at home. Francis had spent15 days in the hospital including several days in the Intensive Care Unit. Please continue to pray for Francis’ health to improve in the coming days and weeks.
