NEWS OF THE WEEK

The National Quartet Convention announced that Turning Point Ministries, the broadcast ministry of Dr. David Jeremiah, is the title sponsor for the 2024 National Quartet Convention and all NQC produced events.

In the same press release, the National Quartet Convention announced that ticket sales for the upcoming September 22-28 event will resume on Monday, February 5. Sales were paused over two months ago when NQC announced the return of the center stage configuration used from 2014-2019. The process of re-assigning seating for patrons who had already purchased tickets took a few weeks longer than the early January completion date originally estimated by NQC’s ticket agent, iTickets.

In a preview of the upcoming American Idol season, contestant McKenna Breinholt auditioned with “There Was Jesus” (Zach Williams/Dolly Parton) before an emotional family reunion. The Instagram video is linked below.

PRAYER REQUEST

On Monday, Singing News Vice President Danny Jones requested prayers for the magazine’s publisher Rick Francis whose health suddenly declined a few days before. Francis remains in his hospital’s Intensive Care Unit in critical condition where he has been alert at times and communicated with family by writing.
