NEWS NUGGETS

The Lore Family announced seventeen-year veteran Samual Lore will be stepping away from the group to focus on new ministry opportunities with his wife Rebekah. The group is not seeking a replacement as they will still have four vocalists moving forward.

The Oak Ridge Boys announced their American Made: Farewell Tour. The group, which traces its origins back to 1943 as part of the Georgia Clodhoppers, is also marking the 50th anniversary of the current lineup’s formation. The Oaks will perform select dates through 2024 and plan to continue appearing as members of the Grand Ole Opry.

The Kingdom Heirs announced the resignation of Loren Harris who initially joined the group to sing baritone seven years ago and then moved to the lead singer role in 2022. Harris last performed with the group in early August before health issues that have affected him the last few years became too serious for him to continue. The group has not yet announced a replacement but did state they will not be conducting auditions. Former Kingsmen lead singer Chris Bryant has been filling in for Harris the past few weeks.

Dave Clark and Dusty Wells have released the first four episodes of their new podcast I Love To Tell The Story. The four episodes include an introductory piece followed by conversations with Reba Rambo, Billy Blackwood, and Chris Golden.

The Candler, North Carolina-based trio Fields of Grace is the latest addition to the Family Music Group label.

PRAYER REQUEST/PRAISE REPORT

Please pray for Danny Funderburk (Cathedral Quartet/Perfect Heart) as he recovers from a severe concussion after suffering a fall last weekend. The praise report is that a follow-up MRI yesterday ruled out a stroke. Funderburk will be inducted into the Southern Gospel Music Association Hall Of Fame next week on Tuesday afternoon at the National Quartet Convention. His wife Shelley has shared she is optimistic about them attending the induction ceremony even if they can’t stay at NQC for the entire week as they originally planned.
