NEWS OF THE WEEK

Gold City’s Danny Riley announced Josh Feemster will be the new lead singer for Gold City. Feemster had been filling in since Bruce Taliaferro’s third tenure abruptly ended a few weeks ago. He initially intended to only fill in until Gold City could hire a permanent lead singer, but the overwhelmingly positive response from fans was a major factor in causing Feemster to reconsider. Riley said a new recording is already in the works, but a release date is not yet set.

HighRoad’s Sarah Davison and Trevor Randolph announced their engagement to be married in a Facebook post this past Sunday.

Triumphant Quartet announced Scotty Inman’s final performance with the group will be on September 1 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Inman said the prompt hiring of his replacement, Sean Barber, has permitted him to take his solo career full-time sooner than initially announced.

Daywind Records announced Scotty Inman has joined their family of recording artists. Inman is currently writing new music for his next album.

Amazon Freevee will release a six-episode docuseries on September 1 titled God. Family. Football. The series follows former pro football player, high school football coach, and pastor Denny Duron as he comes out of a 30-year retirement to coach the football program he founded at Evangel Christian Academy in  Shreveport, Louisiana. NFL quarterback Russell Wilson is an executive producer of the series.

Ray Flynn and Scott Godsey surprised The Inspirations with a $10,000 check from Singing News after a performance on Wednesday at The Ark Encounter in Williamstown, Kentucky. Flynn and Godsey lauded the group for their work ethic, devotion to Southern Gospel music, and for leading the industry selling Singing News subscriptions.
