RECENT HAPPENINGS

Former Louisiana Governor Jimmie Davis will be honored with a marker on the Northeast Louisiana Music Trail and a tribute concert at the Jimmie Davis Memorial Auditorium in Quitman, Louisiana tomorrow (Saturday). In addition to his career in politics, Davis was the composer of many Country and Gospel songs including “You Are My Sunshine” and “Sheltered In The Arms Of God.”

The 53rd Annual Dove Awards were presented on Tuesday evening, but the winners have not officially been released. An edited telecast of the event will air tonight on TBN at 8:00 PM (EDT) with a repeat broadcast at 10:00 PM.

High Road’s Sarah Davison directed the music for a segment of the Dove Awards titled The Ladies Of Southern Gospel Music. Artists appearing included High Road and Kenna Turner West along with the female members of Karen Peck and New River, The Nelons, and The Hoppers.
