#NQC2022 – Monday Evening

by | Sep 26, 2022 | Major Concert Events

Tonight, I heard sets by Soul’d Out, Debra Perry & Jaiden’s Call, Dixie Echoes, the Fergusons, Brian Free & Assurance, The Griffins, Guardians, Down East Boys, Hyssongs, Second Half Quartet, Karen Peck & New River, the Mylon Hayes Family, and Ronny Hinson.

In the Exhibit Hall, I enjoyed speaking with Jon Epley, Aaron Swain, Michael Booth, and many more.

I’ve been impressed by the quality of the audio mix this year; at least it sounded good from my seat. Your mileage may vary in other parts of the building. I was pretty close to the stage tonight; about eight rows back just off the center section.

I remember years in Louisville where someone would start to sing a solo and their mic wouldn’t be on for several words before they found the unmute button; then they’d sing a chorus and come back to solo the second verse, and it would be off again. There have been zero issues like that, at least not when I’ve been in my seat. Of course, a professional presentation is what fans should expect, and NQC 2022 so far has delivered. Good for them.

My favorite moment of the evening was similar to my favorite moment on Sunday night. Second Half Quartet delivered a stellar performance of “There’s Something About That Name” with tight harmonies and subtle dynamic changes to emphasize the lyrics.

I’ve taken a few photos yesterday and today. Click HERE and scroll down to view them on Facebook.

I know this is a super long shot, but I still hope that the Second Half Quartet will decide to record another project one day!!!! A guy can dream I suppose
