Dusty Barrett announced he is launching a solo career after singing tenor with Soul’d Out for more than 13 years.

Logan Smith is leaving 11th Hour after traveling with the trio for a little over three years. He has two solo albums in the works with current 11th Hour members providing background vocals. Smith’s replacement in 11th Hour is newcomer Chandler Padgett who will be graduating from Bethel University in December.

Global Promotions and Southern Gospel News Today founder Paul Pitts was elected president of the Southern Gospel Promoter’s Association last week during the National Quartet Convention. Other elected officers of the association are Marcelle Slaughter (First Vice President), Greg Baskin (Second Vice President), Don Williamson (Membership Chairman), and Angela Griffin (Secretary & Treasurer).

The Southern Gospel Promoter’s Association recognized Pastor Bill Bailey as their 2020 Promoter Of The Year, honoring Bailey’s “Sing the Glory Down” concert series and his promotion of the Southern Gospel Relief Fund.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, the Southern Gospel Music Association announced the addition of Jarrod Vanderslice to their Advisory Board. Vanderslice is a former member of the Galloways who currently travels with his 13-year-old daughter Jaylie in Sound Street, a trio.

In a special presentation last week, the National Quartet Convention recognized Pastor Charles Stanley for his 60+ years of ministry.

Last Saturday, the Board Of Directors for the National Quartet Convention presented songwriter/singer Phil Cross with the Les Beasley Award honoring him for 40 years of success in the industry. Immediately after the award was presented, Phil Cross & Poet Voices performed a medley of classic hits written by Cross. Check it out below.

      I just publish the dates I can find listed…often labels can’t make up their minds and make changes at the last minute.
