NEWS OF THE WEEK
Former Freedom Quartet owner and tenor singer John Rulapaugh has joined The Inspirationals Quartet based in Fort Worth, Texas. Rulapaugh will continue to appear with the Original Dove Brothers, which schedules just a few dates per year.
The 2021 Diamond Awards were presented on Tuesday during the Creekside Gospel Music Convention. Jeannette Cooke was presented with the JD Sumner Living Legend Award and Triumphant Quartet received Quartet Of The Year. A complete list of winners will be posted soon at sgncoops.com.
Since the National Quartet Convention, the Southern Gospel Music Association’s booth has been popping up at concert events around the Carolinas, Georgia, and Tennessee giving fans a convenient opportunity to join the organization. The SGMA is a professional association of artists, songwriters, industry workers, and fans founded to preserve, protect, and promote Southern Gospel Music, its history, and heritage.
