NEWS OF THE WEEK

Ricky Skaggs invited the Isaacs to join the Grand Ole Opry during their performance at the historic venue on Tuesday. The Isaacs performed an extended set celebrating the release of their new album The American Face.

The Gospel Music Association announced the nominees for the 2021 Dove Awards on Wednesday. The Dove Awards will be presented on Tuesday, October 19th, 2021 and air on TBN the following Friday night.

  • Dove Award nominees in the Southern Gospel Artist of the Year category include Ernie Haase & Signature Sound, The Gaither Vocal Band, Jason Crabb, Joseph Habedank, and Triumphant Quartet.
  • Dove Award nominees in the Southern Gospel Album of the Year category include Bigger Than Sunday by Triumphant Quartet, Change Is Coming by Joseph Habedank, It’s Still Good News by the Guardians, That’s Gospel, Brother by the Gaither Vocal Band, and The Journey by Greater Vision.
  • Dove Award nominees in the Southern Gospel Recorded Song of the Year category include “First Church of Mercy” by The Sound, “I Just Feel Like Something Good Is About to Happen” by The Gaither Vocal Band, “My King is Known By Love” by the Crabb Family, “Religion Isn’t Working” by Joseph Habedank, and “Wake Up” by Ernie Haase & Signature Sound.
  • Dove Award nominees in the Bluegrass/Country/Roots Album of the Year include Alone With My Faith by Harry Connick, Jr., Little More Love by Jordan Family Band, My Savior by Carrie Underwood, Peace At Last by the Nelons, and Songs of the Times by The Isaacs.
  • Dove Award nominees in the Bluegrass/Country/Roots Recorded Song of the Year category include “Because He Lives” by Harry Connick, Jr., “Better Off There” by the Browns, “Go Rest High On That Mountain” by Fortune/Walker/Rogers/Isaacs, “Great God Almighty” by The Sound, and “If God Pulled Back The Curtain” by the Nelons.
  • Dove Award nominees in the Musical/Choral Collection category include Behold The Lamb Of God by Andrew Peterson, Carson Wagner, & Russell Mauldin; Christmas Comes Alive by Devin McGlamery, Cliff Duren, Phillip Keveren, Phil Nitz; I Choose Christ: The Songs of Sue C. Smith by Cliff Duren & Sue C. Smith; Love Lifted Up: An Easter Musical by Jason Cox, Joseph Habedank, Cliff Duren, Jay Rouse, Marty Hamby, & Phil Nitz; and Love Was Born A King by Joel Lindsey & Jeff Bumgardner.
  • Other nominees familiar to Southern Gospel fans include Wayne Haun in the Producer of the Year category, “There Was Jesus” by Zach Williams featuring Dolly Parton in the Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year category, “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” by Carrie Underwood featuring Cece Winans in the Inspirational Recorded Song of the Year category, and Reunited Live by The Gaither Vocal Band in the Christmas/Special Event Album of the Year category.
