NEWS OF THE WEEK

Greater Vision announced that Fay Shedd, the booking agent for the group’s entire 31-year history, is retiring. The popular trio will now be represented by The Harper Agency.

The promoters of the Memphis Quartet Show announced the famous Fairfield Four will appear at the 2021 event in an afternoon matinee on Saturday, June 19. Fans who can not attend have the option of streaming up to five sessions of the multi-day event, including the Fairfield Four showcase.

Fans who see 11th Hour in concert this weekend or catch their introductory video streaming tonight will be the first to hear their new vocalist. Singer/songwriter Victoria Bowlin has joined the trio replacing Jaquita Lindsey who resigned in April.

Legacy Five announced pianist Josh Townsend is leaving the group after a four-year tenure. Townsend’s future plans include producing music, but added he will “hop on a bus occasionally as opportunities to do so arise.”

The preaching ministry of Dell Hyssong will now be aired on SiriusXM 131 Family Talk.

A brand new group called Red Letter Edition was introduced to music fans this week. Members include Jeremy Peace, Marcus Faulknor, Anthony Patton, and Keith Plott. Check out the new lyric video for their cover version of the popular worship song “Holy Water” below:

REMEMBERING

Original Inspirations lead singer Ron Hutchins passed away on Friday, May 21, 2021. He performed with the group on several separate stints until 1998 and also worked in the Inspirations office until 2017. A memorial service for Hutchins will be held in Bryson City, North Carolina at a later date.

Diplomats singer Jimmy Pearson passed away on Wednesday, May 26. A memorial service for Pearson will be held tomorrow (Saturday, May 29) in Breman, Georgia.

Former Blackwood Brothers pianist Mike Hammontree passed away on Saturday, May 22. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.
