Gospel Music Happenings

  • Matt Dibler announced he has stepped down from the lead singer position with the Inspirations to have more time to devote to his duties as Minister of Music at Calvary Baptist Church of Statham, Georgia. Roland Kesterson will be the group’s lead singer going forward. Kesterson has been with the Inspirations in various roles since 2015, most recently playing bass guitar with occasional solo features.
  • Redemption’s Promise is a brand new male quartet that includes Chuck Pettyjohn on tenor, Shannon Yates on lead, David Emery on baritone, and Paul Hyde on bass. All four are former members of well-known groups. They are based on Morristown, Tennessee.

Remembering

  • Former Kingsmen tenor Ernie Phillips (“The Little Giant”), passed away on Thursday, November 29. A homegoing celebration will be held for Phillips on Monday, December 3, in Asheville, NC.
