Gospel Music Happenings

  • The Hoppers were inducted into the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame on October 18, 2018 at a ceremony held in Kannapolis, North Carolina. Other inductees included John Tesh, Chris Daughtry, Dolphus Ramseur, Luther Barnes, Calvin Richardson and Blind Boy Fuller.
  • Country/Bluegrass/Gospel legend Ricky Skaggs was inducted into the Country Music Hall Of Fame at a ceremony held in Nashville, Tennessee on October 21, 2018 along with Texas fiddler Johnny Gimble and singer/songwriter Dottie West.
  • AB Gospel Agency announced they recently reached an agreement to represent soloist, Bob Sellers.

    I saw the Hoppers, sometime in the very early 60’s, in Madison-Mayodan, North Carolina. The group consisted of 5 brothers, with Connie playing the piano. They told the audience that they had just won the talent contest….I think at the National Quartet Convention, but not positive about that. They also told us that the concert that day was their first concert as professionals. Some have questioned that, since they were singing for a few years prior to that. But, that is my memory of that day.
