A few weeks ago, I was able to see Avenue Trio[1] in concert not once, but twice in north Georgia, at Taylorsville Baptist and Smyrna Baptist Churches! This trio is brand new but I already knew two of their members, Kasey Kemp and Corey Lackey, from Allegiance. The third member, Jacob Lagesse, is a newcomer and soon-to-be graduate from Trevecca Nazarene University. Though they are based out of Nashville, the three members hail from Illinois, Detroit and Chicago – so they’re not “Southern” boys at all! Although they have only been touring for about 2 months or so, they blend very well together and seem to have great rapport with each other on stage. I really appreciated that for the two services I attended, they sang several different songs at each one – pretty doggone good for a brand new group!
Soon after I saw them, Avenue released their first CD, “Songs For Every Mile,” that is full of wonderful cover songs from a great variety of artists and songwriters. Here are a few videos for you – two of which are songs from the new album (shown with asterisks).
