Several comments. First: didn’t News Nuggets used to be on Mondays? Not that I have a problem with them on Fridays. Was just wondering about the change. Secondly: is Gold City really putting out ANOTHER collection of formerly released songs? Unless you count their hymns album, which I don’t, they haven’t released an album of all new material since Somebody’s Coming, all the way back in 2011. I think it really shows in their concerts these days, since they are singing songs that are far from new. Just my personal opinion :-)
News Nuggets has been moved to Fridays to coincide with the weekly release day for new music. To bring attention to this, we added the new “Releasing Today” section.
Gold City/The Daywind Years: A Collection Of Hits From 1997-2001 is being put out by Daywind Records, not Gold City. It is a compilation of songs Gold City recorded while they were signed to Daywind in the late 1990s/early 2000s. I would be surprised if the group had any say or was even consulted about the timing of the release. Record companies have done this sort of thing for years, and it’s rather ironic how it usually just happens to fall around the same time the group plans to release a new CD on a competing label;just a coincidence, I’m sure!
