#NewsNuggets: 7/7/17

Going forward, the weekly #NewsNuggets feature will be posted on Friday afternoons. Thank you for reading!

This Week’s Happenings

  • Idaho’s Liberty Quartet announced that tenor singer Philip Batton is returning to the group in August. Batton had resigned seven months ago, and fill-in singers had been used during his absence.

Prayer Request

  • Please keep former Kingsmen and current Land Of The Sky Boys tenor Ernie Phillips in your prayers. Phillips was hospitalized earlier this week with high fever, low white blood cell count due to his chemotherapy treatments, and pneumonia in both lungs. The latest report is that Ernie is much improved and may be able to return home from the hospital next week.
  • Please continue to remember McKameys guitar player and vocalist Eli Fortner who returned to the hospital on Monday after his numbers went “haywire” to use his word. Fortner recently had a kidney transplant.

Trivia Nugget

  • Former Dove Brothers Band drummer Devin Dove now plays drums and sings for Blackwater, a beach music, blues, & funk group that performs in various venues on the coast of the Carolinas.
