SGMA Benefit Concert (Cumming, GA)

by | Jun 3, 2017 | Uncategorized

I was able to attend an SGMA benefit concert held at the North Lanier Baptist Church in Cumming, Georgia on Thursday night. Travis Bridgeman is the pastor of a smaller baptist church in the city and he spearheads this event.  He got quite a number of sponsors and lined up Melvin Klaudt, the LeFevre Quartet and Troy and Tammy Burns to join in the event.  I don’t know how many folks attended nor how much money was raised, but I do know that I enjoyed it immensely.   A special bonus for us was a FaceTime chat with SGMA president Arthur Rice where he announced the 2017 class of Hall of Fame inductees:  Randy Dale Shelnut, Sr., Troy Burns, Tony Greene and LaBreeska Hemphill!

Here’s a little compilation of some of the songs that were sung last night:

I hope you will check out SGMA’s website and consider becoming a member to help support SGMA and the Hall of Fame.  This is a listing of the Board of Directors that was shown in the bulletin last night.  I was pleased to see these names and thought my readers might also like to know:

Arthur Rice, President                  Gary Casto, Vice President                     Karen Peck Gooch, Secretary

Liz Autry, Bill Bailey, Clarke Beasley, Travis Bridgeman, Bob Brumley, Kelly Nelon Clark, Sheri Easger, Earl Eleton, Josh Franks, Dr. Jerry Goff, Paul Heil, Dean Hickman, Richard Hyssong, Mike LeFevre, Randall McDaniel, Paul Pitts, John Rulapaugh, Mark Trammell, Chris White, and Jonathan Wilburn.
