End-of-April Reflections

by | Apr 30, 2017 | Uncategorized

I’m a bit down today. I am very blessed, and God has been so good to me, yet there are still days in which I think back over my life and wonder what, if anything, I have achieved. There are also things I would not have written into my life’s script and, yet, I know that everything happens for a purpose. God’s plan is ultimately much better than my plan would have been. I feel lonely during these times, but these are the times I am driven back to my Savior, asking Him to hold me and carry me for a while. He is so faithful.

I share this only because I expect that I am not the only one who feels this way. Maybe you are feeling encouraged today but just about everyone has days of sadness, loneliness, illness, and maybe a bit of despair–you know, those things that can get your eyes off of Jesus and onto yourself although that is the exact opposite of what your posture should be.

It’s not always easy to fight the good fight, to press on when you are weary, to rejoice in all circumstances. And, yet, those are the things that we must do. Life is short. Don’t spend the time you have left complaining and focusing on yourself. Instead, count your blessings, sing, praise the Father, tell someone you love them. I will be working on these things today as well.
