NEWS NUGGETS

On Tuesday, Poet Voices announced that Phil Cross will be reducing his singing, while still remaining very active with the group playing keyboard and communicating with the crowd. The group has added former Kingdom Heirs singer Loren Harris, who has already been traveling with Poet Voices for the past few weeks, to sing the fourth vocal part. The group also announced they will soon re-issue their 2023 Oak Ridge Boys tribute album King Jesus with fresh vocals recorded by Harris. 

REMEMBERING

Jim Van Hook, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026. He had worked for Benson Music early in his career, then founded Brentwood Music. In 1994, he sold Brentwood to the Zomba Corporation and continued in to work for them in the role of President and CEO of the newly created Provident Music for another nine years. Van Hook later served as President and CEO of Word Entertainment and President of Nazarene Publishing House before retiring. A funeral service is planned today in Brentwood, Tennessee.
