The National Quartet Convention began this past Sunday and will conclude tomorrow. The annual event draws thousands of fans, artists, and industry-related individuals to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee every fall.

The Southern Gospel Music Association formally inducted Jeanette Cooke, Jimmy Swaggart, Gary McSpadden, Duane Allen, and Nick Bruno into their Hall Of Fame during a ceremony Tuesday afternoon at the National Quartet Convention in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

The Singing News Fan Awards were presented on Wednesday at the National Quartet Convention in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Click HERE to view a list of the winners (plus all the other winners from the past 55 years).

The Southern Gospel Promoters Association presented a pair of showcases yesterday morning and this morning at the Biblical Times Theater in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Gospel Music Association President Jackie Patillo was the keynote speaker this morning. 

Peace Records announced the signing of GraceTown, an all-female trio made up of mother Tera Sherrill and her two daughters, Lainey and Madi. The group has entered into an exclusive 3-year recording contract. An album is forthcoming in October.

Bass singer Richard Sterban issued a press release this week to let Oak Ridge Boys fans know the reason he is currently taking a break from touring is due to the treatments he is receiving for pancreatic cancer. Sterban says he feels good most days and expects to return to the stage in a few months. If you have tickets for an upcoming Oaks show, you can expect to see either Aaron McCune or Tim Duncan filling in at the bass position.
