The Kingsmen Quartet announced the departure of tenor singer Thomas Nalley who left the group in April. The Kingsmen will use fill-in singers until a new tenor is selected.

Speaking of the Kingsmen, group owner and long-time bass singer Ray Dean Reese is celebrating his 86th birthday today.

New Destiny Quartet announced the retirement of bass singer Tom Durham. The group will continue as a trio composed of Brian Fuson, Jack Sammons, and Jamey Pittman.

The Singing News Fan Awards have been narrowed down to five in each category. Final round voting begins in July, and winners will be announced during the National Quartet Convention in September. Click HERE to view the Top 5 finalists.

Capitol Music Group announced the merger of their Capitol Records Nashville country division and their Capitol Christian Music Group division. (CCMG is a long-time distributor of Gaither Music Group products). The merged entity will be called Capitol Music Group Nashville and led by newly-named president Candice Watkins.

The Kingsmen announced that office secretary Wendy Gregg’s recent cancer surgery was a success.

REMEMBERING

A public memorial service for singer/songwriter Squire Parsons will be held on Tuesday, June 17 in Asheville, North Carolina. The family held a private service earlier this week.
