NEWS OF THE WEEK

“Four Days Late,” Karen Peck & New River’s biggest song for the past 23 years, received renewed attention Monday when it was shared in a video by reality TV star Todd Chrisley just hours before he reported to serve a 12-year prison sentence for tax evasion. On Wednesday, Karen Peck commented that her group “has been bombarded with such kind messages from so many of you that we’re meeting for the first time.”

The official Facebook page of the National Quartet Convention was hacked by ne’er-do-wells sharing images of Popeye, animals, Betty White, and other nonsense unrelated to the convention. NQC’s Executive Vice President Clarke Beasley said the organization “is working diligently to regain control of the page, but be advised that until further notice, any posts made on the page are not being made by NQC or any authorized NQC administrator.”

Molded Clay of Rock Hill, South Carolina has retooled their lineup announcing the additions of Jack Bowlin (tenor) and James Beal (baritone) as well as the return of former bass singer Willie Strickland.
