RECENT HAPPENINGS

The Southern Gospel Music Association announced the fourth and final Hall Of Fame inductee for 2022 will be songwriter, singer, teacher, and author Kyla Rowland. Rowland, who passed away in January, joins living inductees Rodney Griffin, Arthur Rice, and Chris White in the 2022 class.

The nominees for the 2022 Dove Awards were announced on Wednesday, August 10. Click HERE[1] to view the complete list of nominees.

Main Street Music & Entertainment announced the departure of co-founder Q Phillips. Phillips plans to focus his efforts on the management side of the industry.

IMC Concerts President, Landon Beene announced the 2023 Gospel Music Celebration Hawaii Cruise is no longer restricted by required Covid-19 vaccinations.

Following the departures of lead singer Steven Craps and baritone singer Tim Webster, the Pine Ridge Boys have announced the additions of 20-year-old lead singer Matthew Benton and 17-year-old baritone singer Jackson Smith. The new lineup will debut tomorrow on the Lowesville Gospel Concert series in Stanley, North Carolina.

Chandler Padgett has left 11th Hour after spending less than 12 months with the trio. Padgett will be replaced by Garrett Saunders who is the husband of group owner Amber Eppinette.

Kingsmen Quartet tenor Chris Jenkins and Artist Resource Services sales/marketing manager Jaquita Lindsey were married on Monday evening. The couple had been engaged since May.

REMEMBERING

Producer/pianist Otis Forrest passed away on Wednesday, August 10. The memorial service for Forrest will be held on Monday in Greenville, SC.

    Is 11th Hour on a reduced tour schedule now? I feel like I recall an announcement along those lines at some point…

      I don’t know about reduced appearances, but looking at their schedule, it appears they may not be going out of town as often. They are going to appear frequently at Trinity Baptist in Asheville where Arthur Rice is now the music director over the next few weeks.
