I’m sure you’ve seen by now, but Gospel Music lost 2 influential ladies Thursday night/Friday morning.

Edith Tripp – wife of legendary singer Laverne Tripp/vocalist with the Laverne Tripp Family passed away Thursday evening. Their son, Robb just passed back in early December 2021.

Dora McKamey Horton – original member of the McKamey Sisters, which would eventually be the McKameys. She had sole responsibility for Peg & Carol joining her for some songs at a homecoming singing back in 1954.

I’m not sure if you share single releases or not, but the Perrys released their new single, “John 3:16 Is Calling Out to You,” to streaming platforms Friday, the 18th, as well. Not sure of an album title yet.

Thank you, Andrew. I was running late getting the article up this week due to a Dr. appointment, so I missed including those obituaries.

Regarding singles (especially digital-only singles), I don’t list those. I generally limit the new release list to EPs or greater.
