“Go, inspect the city of Jerusalem. Walk around and count the many towers. Take note of the fortified walls, and tour all the citadels, that you may describe them to future generations. For that is what God is like. He is our God forever and ever, and he will be our guide until we die” ~Psalms 48:12-14.
“The name of the LORD is a strong fortress; the godly run to him and are safe” ~Proverbs 18:10.
I am so thankful to serve a God who is stronger than anything life can throw at me. In an age of uncertainty, I don’t have to fear because I have a fortress that I can run to, a Father who will give me strength to weather every storm of life as I cling tightly to His hand. I don’t know how people get through life without God, but I daresay most do not do so very well.
It’s ironic that comedians and wealthy people are often the saddest, most miserable people in the world. They may try to find happiness in sex, drugs, friends, etc. but, alas, they still come away empty, and many eventually give up on life.
The last few years have not been easy for anyone. Fear is rampant, bad attitudes flair, most have experienced more grief in two years’ time than they have in their lifetime. And yet God remains faithful. He continues to comfort and encourage and give strength that some never knew they possessed.
I don’t know what the future holds, and I’m honestly glad that I don’t. But I do know that God will give grace for every situation I encounter. The same is true for you. The key is to draw near to the Lord now BEFORE disaster strikes. Get in the Word, spend time in prayer, get to know your Father. Believe that He loves you so much that He sent His Son to die for YOU. One day, you won’t remember the trials that now seem never ending. If you are God’s child, you will be so in awe of Him and His goodness that all you will be able to do is praise Him, so why not start now? Thank Him for being strong in your weakness. Thank Him for never leaving you no matter how difficult life gets. Focus on your blessings instead of everything that is going wrong in your life. We serve a good and mighty God, y’all. It’s time we begin to act like it.
