NEWS OF THE WEEK

StowTown Records announced the addition of Sunday Drive to their family of recording artists. The group members include Jeff Treece, his wife Misty, and his brother Dusty.

Sea Walker Media Corporation named Vonda Armstrong the Director of Media of Singing News brands. Armstrong’s duties will include guiding the strategic direction of artists in Southern Gospel, Christian Country and Bluegrass Gospel in all three arms of media that Sea Walker Media Corporation has acquired and built.

After announcing the new location for their Hall Of Fame & Museum last week, the Southern Gospel Music Association launched a fundraising campaign to cover renovation and design expenses at the Biblical Times Dinner Theater. Click HERE[1] for details on how to donate.

The Coffmans have signed to record for Big Picture Records, a label operated by Artist Resource Services and distributed to retail through New Day Christian Distributors. 

Mickey Bell was announced as host of a new syndicated radio show called Throw Back Gospel. Each two-hour episode will highlight the hits from a specific month in the past.

The Troy Burns Family announced the addition of Mark Lane as their new baritone singer and guitarist. Lane replaces Jake Whisnant who joined The Lore Family earlier this year. 

The Ball Brothers released an a cappella version of the classic Gaither song “I’m Free” today. Check it out below.

REMEMBERING

Blackwood Brothers singer Wayne Little passed away on January 1 after a bout with Covid-19. Little filled the tenor position with the legendary group for 17-years (2004-2021). A graveside service for Little was held on Wednesday, January 5 in Shady Valley, Tennessee.

    Wanted to wait but I have really enjoyed the radio show Mickey Bell started hosted.
    It’s something that’s be right at home on any of the stations like Singing News, Enlighten, or even the new Real Southern Gospel.
