Any fan with a valid email address can vote in the 2021 Singing News Fan Awards. Voting is not restricted to Singing News subscribers as in years past. Click HERE to participate in the voting process on or after Wednesday, February 24th.

The Singing News Fan Awards will expand to a total of 19 categories in 2021 with the addition of the Favorite Duet category. Radio awards are also being modified with details to be announced at a later date.

The Jordan Family Band announced they are now represented exclusively by The Dominion Agency for concert bookings.

Daywind Music Publishing announced the addition of Natalie Cromwell (“Running”/The Martins) to their roster of songwriters.

VeggieTales co-creator Mike Nawrocki recently launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the first six episodes of a new animated series based on his book series, The Dead Sea Squirrels. Filmmaker-writer-recording artist Steven Taylor is on board to produce the series.

In the wake of a year that saw growth and expansion for the company through their partnership with Primary Wave Music Publishing, Gaither Music Group has announced the following promotions and new hires:
1. Melissa Chambers is promoted to Senior Director of Operations and Production.
2. Celeste Winstead is promoted to Senior Director of Content and Marketing.
3. Hannah Franklin is promoted to Digital Marketing Manager.
4. Meghann Wright is hired as the new Director of Marketing.
5. Adrienne Kelley is hired as the new Social Media Specialist.
6. Skye Overstreet is hired as the new Digital Streaming Specialist.

REMEMBERING

Former CCM superstar and Gospel Music Association Hall Of Fame member Carman Licciardello passed away on Tuesday, February 16 following complications from a routine surgery. The singer got his start touring with the Bill Gaither Trio in the early 1980s and holds the record for the largest Christian concert attendance. He appeared at the National Quartet Convention in 2019.

Danny Lamar Gable, better known to Southern Gospel fans by his radio DJ moniker Danny O’Day, passed away on Saturday, February 13. In addition to hosting his “Suppertime Gospel Radio Show” on WCON radio for many years, Gable/O’Day had also appeared as a television host and concert emcee.

    Nice to see the Carrie Underwood hymn album. I was secretly hoping she’d redo the Brian Free song “God So Loved” that she did years ago. It’s on YouTube and a good one.
