Gospel Music Happenings
- The Old Paths announced they will return to touring full-time in 2019. The group left the road in 2015, then returned to touring on a part-time basis in 2017.
- Gadsden, Alabama’s Exodus has announced they will perform as a female trio in the future. Exodus had been a mixed group until the departure of Cole Watson, who joined the Troy Burn Family earlier this year.
- The Kingsmen Quartet announced they have hired Chris Bryant as their new lead singer. Bryant replaces Bob Sellers who left the Kingsmen in June after a 7-year stint. Bryant most recently sang lead for the Bibletones.
Remembering
- Singer, songwriter, and music publisher Annette Herndon passed away on August 11. A memorial service for Herndon was held on Tuesday, August 14 in Bethlehem, Georgia.
- Former Downings and Oak Ridge Boys bass guitar player Don Breland passed away on August 16.
- Concert promoter and Southern Gospel “super fan” Judy Brannin passed away on August 14. A memorial service will be held on August 25 in Gaffney, SC.
