Acoustic GVB CD Coming In September

The Gaither Vocal Band will release an acoustic CD in September. It appears they’ll cover a number of songs (“On The Road To Emmaus,” “Rumormill,” etc.) along with a few new titles and the obligatory Gaither classic.

I’ve posted the complete track list below.

01. Do You Wanna Be Well?
02. On The Road To Emmaus
03. Rumormill
04. The Love of God
05. Cup Of Sorrow
06. Rasslin’ Jacob
07. Winds Of This World
08. Glorious Freedom
09. The Old Rugged Cross Made The Difference
10. I Don’t Want to Get Adjusted
11. Fool’s Gold
12. Long Time Gone
13. There’s A Whole Lot of Shaking Going On
14. I’m Rich

I’m looking forward to hearing this studio version of “I Don’t Want To Get Adjusted.” That song was a highlight of the Gaither Tent Revival DVDs featuring Mitchell Jon with some assistance from Larnelle Harris and Michael English.

Although I’m sure a GVB version would be impressive, I’m guessing that “There’s A Whole Lot of Shaking Going On” is probably not the same song popularized by Jerry Lee Lewis.

    • Thanks for the feedback. I felt like the header was taking up too much room, so I removed that…then, I thought I’d flip the colors, so I wouldn’t be just changing just the one thing.

I may go back to the white background/black text, though.

  1. Looking forward to hearing GVB acoustic !!! Love the black background makes it easier for these old eyes to read!!!

  2. This is probably gonna be the first GVB album in a long time that I’m almost sure of that is not gonna be disappointing. Can’t wait hear it…hope ‘Winds of this World’ is the tune Charles Johnson & The Revivers did years ago….i bet it is. And I’m almost sure if it is that one, Michael brought it to the party! The artwork look fresh and crisp..like it!

    • The photo they decide to use in the end may be the same, but it appears the album title is going to be _Pure and Simple_.

This shot looks pretty good, except for Bill Gaither’s outfit that clashes with everything everyone else is wearing.

    • The Talleys also recorded a cover of the Charles Johnson song a few years ago, and yeah, I expect Michael English will tear that up!

  3. it’s IS the song done by Charles Johnson and the R’s, yes Michael put a little English on it in concert in R’md
