NEWS THIS WEEK

The Southern Gospel Music Association’s Hall Of Fame & Museum will be moving to a new location to be announced at a future date. The physical museum was opened at the Dollywood theme park in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee on April 17, 1999. (The SGMA organization was established in 1994, and the Hall of Fame inducted its first class of members in 1997.)

The NQC Fall Festival was able to increase seating capacity from 1500 to approximately 2400 for the final few nights thanks to revised guidelines the state of Tennessee issued midway through the event. The scaled-down event in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee replaced the annual National Quartet Convention for 2020. It continues tonight and concludes tomorrow. Click HERE to purchase tickets.

Singing News is presenting their 2020 Fan Awards at the NQC Fall Festival RIGHT NOW (assuming you’re reading this on Friday, October 2 before 3:30 PM EDT).

The Anchormen have announced the departure of lead singer, Nathan Potts. Singers who are interested in applying for the position are asked to submit a photo and audio sample or video link to: anchormen@aol.com

The Top Five finalists have been announced for the Diamond Awards. Click HERE to view the list. The awards will be presented on October 29, 2020 at People’s Tabernacle Church in Savannah, Tennessee.

Interesting that the Hall of Fame is moving. I have toured it several times on visits to Dollywood and very much enjoyed my visits each time. Hopefully it is moving somewhere a little more accessible where a person can visit for an admission fee just to see the museum. The price to visit Dollywood is prohibitive for anyone that would like to see the museum and Hall of Fame but does not wish to spend a day at Dollywood.
