NQC 2019 – THURSDAY Evening

by | Sep 27, 2019 | Concert Review, Major Concert Events

I rolled into Pigeon Forge this afternoon in time to visit and shop at the artist booths set up throughout the LeConte Center. Some of the artists I wanted to see had finished their performances for the week and had gone, but I did see enough to buy eight new albums that were hot off the press!

Here were the highlights from the concert I chose to report on:

  1. I missed the father/son duo of Wilburn and Wilburn while Jordan was off the road for a while. They were in excellent form last night. I particularly enjoyed a song named 33 (written by Lee Black, Jason Cox, and Dustin James) and There Rose a Lamb which included Kim and Dean Hopper.
  2. Two groups featured songs from their brand new Christmas albums and provided the most beautiful moments of the evening. Ernie Haase & Signature Sound sang Oh, Holy Night and The Collingsworth Family sang I Call Him Lord.
  3. Joseph Habedank had the crowd on their feet several times with a very powerful set. Most of the crowd where I was sitting were on their feet at the end of The Beauty of the Blood and just remained standing and clapping for Here He Comes.
  4. The Martins were back on stage with a great set of three songs, the most exquisite of which was their a capella rendition of the Doxology.
  5. Triumphant appeared for their last time for the week and pleased the audience with their song of the year, Even Me, and ended with I’m Going There. It was quite a rowdy crowd for the very late hour!
  6. Pianist Timothy Noble has been appearing at NQC for at least seven or eight years and was back with a main stage appearance with new bride Hosanna. They actually met at NQC three years ago and were married this June. Timothy is such a wonderful pianist but now added to that were his strong vocals and Hosanna’s violin. They brought down the house!

My photos were not nearly as good as David’s but I might add a few of them later.
