Remembering

Suzan Kaye Speer, oldest child and only daughter of the late Faye and Brock Speer, passed away on January 7, 2019 after a long illness. Suzan traveled with The Speer Family in the early 1970s and was known for her recitation of “There’s Something About That Name.”  A memorial service was held on Monday, January 14, 2019 in Nashville, Tennessee.

    Recently a aw Gold City with the Kingsmen in Hattiesburg and both groups are doing great things with their current line up. Might not be what their news was about this week but it needed to be said.

    Doesn’t it seem like an unusually slow time in SG? There doesn’t appear to be a release from a major group until March with Triumphant. I guess not many group member changes announcements is a good thing. Still bummed about the Jim Brady Trio.

      Not really. Most Southern Gospel releases come out in the spring and summer. There’s a rush to get albums completed in time for the National Quartet Convention and of course, the Christmas season. It would be more unusual if there were a lot of releases in January and February.
