- The Tri-State Gospel Music Hall Of Fame (representing Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee) announced their 2018 inductees are Joe Collins (Noblemen Quartet), Weldon Deerman (Golden Harvest Quartet), Jerry Foster (promoter), Ms. Joe Hall (Golden Harvest Quartet), Mike Hartley (Noblemen Quartet), Mike Holcomb (Inspirations Quartet), Randy Perry (Perrys), Chanda Roberson (Webb Sisters), Andy Sharp (The Sharps Quartet), Tracy Stuffle (Perrys), and Greg Witt (Emmaus Road Quartet). The ceremony will be held in August 4, 2018 at Parkway Baptist Temple Church in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia.
- The Singing News Radio Network announced the addition of WQUL radio to its list of affiliates. WQUL (1510 AM and 95.9 FM) can be heard in the Greenville and Spartanburg, South Carolina markets and broadcasts Southern Gospel Music exclusively.
- The Songfellows Quartet announced the departure of bass singer Mike Allen. The group plans to operate as a trio until another bass singer is selected.
