Here’s a review of another concert that was sponsored by Victory Baptist Church in the little town of Rockmart, Georgia! I don’t get to see the Collingsworth Family very often in concert, and every time I see them, I am totally blown away with the amount of talent on the stage! This family consists of mom and dad, Kim and Phil, their two married daughters, Courtney Metz and Brooklyn Blair, son Phillip, Jr., and their “caboose,” Olivia, who has now turned 20 years old, if you can believe it!
I remember very early on in the family’s tour that they mainly featured Kim, Phil, and Brooklyn as a trio. Then they added the other kids more and more to their program until now they have doubled the number of members that are regularly on stage. It has been so fun to watch as each of the children have matured. And it is even more fun to be able to enjoy the many groupings they can make with this many members, including instrumental numbers with piano (Kim), trumpet (Phil, Sr.), guitar (Olivia), and violins (Brooklyn and Courtney). I don’t believe there’s another group on the road that can provide this much variety in a single program. During the many songs in this concert, they performed as the whole group, as the original trio, as a trio of Kim, Brooklyn, and Courtney, as a trio of the sisters, as a quartet of just the kids, in 2 trumpet and piano duets, as a trio of violins and piano, and as a quartet of guitar, violins and piano.
