Concert Review: The Perrys (Douglasville, GA)

by | Apr 12, 2018 | Concert Review

Liberty Baptist Church in Douglasville, Georgia really loves the Perrys! I went to one of that church’s morning services recently to see the Perrys in concert for the first time since Tracy Stuffle’s death in February. This very friendly church was full for the Perrys’ annual visit and was very responsive during the entire service.

Group members Libbi and Jared Stuffle, Andrew Goldman and Troy Peach presented a mixed program with some classic Perrys songs and several from their latest project, Testament. One of the most poignant moments of the service was when Jared sang “Who I Could Have Been,” which he had sung at his father’s funeral. (You can view an archive of that service here.)

Here are some videos from the service. All of the songs except the first one are from the Testament CD.

Gentle Shepherd – This song that featured Libbi at the very beginning of the service was especially for the pastor!

The Harder the Battle, The Sweeter The Victory – This is one of the songs that congregation clapped along with the most.

Sing in the Valley – This very country-flavored song (my favorite of the concert) that features Troy was near the end of the service and the babies were getting a little restless, so you will hear some of them on the video!

Who I Could Have Been – I really enjoyed the trio configuration and the country flavor on this song that featured Jared.

My Hope Is In the Blood – This was very obviously an audience favorite.
