Concert Review: Gold City and Heritage of Gold (Cedartown and Dallas, GA)

by | May 20, 2017 | Concert Review

I was blessed to see Gold City twice in two months – a single-artist concert at First Baptist in Cedartown, GA and a Gold City Heritage event at the Dallas Theater in Dallas, GA.

In Cedartown, there was a full church to hear the current lineup of the group – Thomas Nalley, Scott Brand, Daniel Riley, Chris West, and Bryan Elliot. They presented a good mix of Gold City classics and newer songs. One of my favorites of the evening was from the Standing In the Gap CD that I don’t think I’ve ever heard before, A Strong Hand. A couple more that I loved and have posted videos of that I hadn’t posted before are God of All Gods and That Little Baby.

The Heritage concert was a blast! It was held at the darling old Dallas Theater that is starting to see more gospel concerts – YEAH!!! It included former members Jonathan Wilburn and Jay Parrack as well as the current Gold City and LeFevre Quartets. Jay and Jonathan started the event with a few solo numbers and then the LeFevre Quartet and Gold City sang slightly abbreviated sets before everyone joined up to perform some classic Gold City songs. Here are some video highlights of the program:

Jonathan Wilburn – Living Proof

Jay Parrack – Amazing Grace/I’m Bound For That City/What a Day That Will Be medley

LeFevre Quartet – I had issues with the deep bass notes in this theater for some reason so the video sound was distorted. I have another review coming soon with LeFevre videos with much better sound quality.

Gold City Quartet – He Sent Me Running and Victory in Jesus

Heritage Highlights – Now this was a FULL stage!
