That’s too bad for Ed. First Josh needs to come off the road for a while because of vocal problems. And now Doug is up and gone. (No press release, so this is the first I heard of his departure.) I’ve enjoyed the Boys whenever I’ve heard them and I know Ed will do just fine, with the Lord’s help. Secondly, what’s with all the bus fires? I know absolutely NOTHING about vehicles, much less buses. But it seems like you rarely ever hear of somebody’s car burning up………
This is the first I’ve heard of the Gold City CD. Do you know if it will contain new songs or if it will be a greatest hits type album (I’m wondering because of the title “Treasury of Gold”)? I’m really hoping for a new CD with the current lineup because Gold City is certainly due to release a CD of new songs.
Based on the title and the fact that it’s being put out by New Haven, I’m expecting a compilation; not necessarily “greatest hits.” It could be limited to selections from the five or so CDs they’ve released on New Haven since 2005.
Well, there’s good news and bad news.
The good news is that there will be new songs on this CD. The bad news is there’s only 3 of them. The other 9 songs are selections Gold City has previously recorded.
Truth Is Marching On
I’m Rich
I Cast My Bread Upon The Water
What Children Believe
Never Too Broken
Peter, James and John
Walkin’ and Talkin’ With My Lord
God Handled It All
God’s Building A Church
We do not yet know if the vocals will be re-cut on the 9 older songs.
Gold City is currently expecting their CD of new material to release in the fall. This is not that release, just to be clear.
According to Steve Lixey’s FB, he’s gone from the Down East Boys – as recent as yesterday.
Thank you, Andrew.
