  • 2017 Grammy nominees were announced last Tuesday. Nominees in the Best Roots Gospel Album category include Better Together (Gaither Vocal Band), Nature’s Symphony In 432 (The Isaacs), Hymns (Joey+Rory), Hymns And Songs Of Inspiration (Gordon Mote), God Don’t Ever Change: The Songs Of Blind Willie Johnson (Various Artists)
  • Former Kentucky Headhunters lead singer Ricky Lee Phelps joined the Red Hen Records label.
  • Jason Crabb, the Mylon Hayes Family, Meredith Andrews, the 300-voice Bellevue Baptist Church Choir, and others appeared at Memphis, Tennessee’s Bellevue Baptist Church last Tuesday as part of Fox News’ Todd Starnes All-American Christmas. The event will be aired on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day on Fox News Radio.
  • Performers were announced for Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountains Rise benefit telethon: Chris Stapleton, Chris Young, Big & Rich, Michael W. Smith, Amy Grant, LOCASH, Chris Janson, and Montgomery Gentry will join previously announced performers Reba McEntire, Kenny Rogers, Alison Krauss and Parton herself. The event happens Tuesday, and will air on GAC, AXS TV, RFD and the Heartland Network.

  • Please pray for Mike LeFevre who was hospitalized with acute pancreatitis last week.


  • Former Harvesters, Prophets, and Plainsmen Quartet bass singer Jay Simmons passed away on Friday, December 9. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday morning in Mt. Airy, North Carolina.
  • Jeff Perkins, executive pastor at Landmark Baptist Church and founding member of the Sonmen, passed away Friday, December 9th, following a lengthy battle with melanoma. visitation will be held at Landmark Baptist Church in Cincinnati, OH, on Tuesday evening from 4-7pm, followed by a memorial service.
