(Note: The songs on the CD aren’t in the same order as listed on the label. “Say Amen” actually appears at track #11, “God’s Gonna To The Same For You And Me” is track #9, and “Precious Blood” is track #10.)

The McClanahans are a family group that has been dormant since the 1990s according to the interior notes of their new CD, aptly titled Here We Go Again. Most (and possibly all) of the songs on this CD are remakes.

This group’s sound is a cross between The McKameys and Waylon Jennings. Producers Johnathan Groan & David Manning play bass guitar and drums respectively on this recording as well as traveling as members of The McClanahan’s band. Their fellow band member, Jonathan Gregory, adds guitar parts, fiddle, and mandolin. As a result, this recording has a bit more of a “live” feel than most recordings on the market. The tracks are quite good. Too many vocal pitch issues, however, weaken the impact Here We Go Again could have potentially made.
