2016 Survey: Gospel Music’s Most Infamous YouTube Performance

2016 Survey: Gospel Music’s Most Infamous YouTube Performance

UPDATE (July 22, 2016): Nominations are now closed. Click HERE to vote in the head-to-head elimination round.

Over the years at MusicScribe, we’ve had a variety of articles and surveys to determine your favorite songs. We’ve never tackled performances that are best described as “infamous,” though.

It’s time to set that right. Nominations are open.

Here are the ground rules:
1. Nominations are limited to live performances on YouTube. (No lyric videos, or slideshows, please.)
2, To add a nomination to the list, simply paste the YouTube link into a comment.
3. Any song with a Christian/Gospel connection is eligible, including “shreds.” (You are not limited to Southern Gospel artists and/or songs that might be classified as Southern Gospel.)
4. Keep it PG. See the Kingsmen “shred” below if you need some guidance on where to draw the line on the humor.
5. Nominations will close on Friday, July 22.

Here are four to get us started:
1. breafast song

2. Kingsmen Quartet Shreds take 2

3. James Canupp “Looking for a city”

4. My Name is John Daker

Please note: this survey is purely for fun and not intended for anything other than a few goodhearted laughs. I don’t want to discourage any type of discussion as a general rule, but to keep the mood light for this survey, there will be a pre-emptive ban on comments that object to the survey or any nominated songs. We can have those conversations later if necessary.

Warning: count(): Parameter must be an array or an object that implements Countable in /nfs/c10/h10/mnt/141983/domains/blog.musicscribe.com/html/wp-content/themes/multimag-theme/includes/single/post-tags-categories.php on line 7

This I submit not because I think it will beat certain other highly deserving nominations, but because it deserves at least honorable mention:

WARNING: Some might get offended at one word in this video, but I had to at least give it a chance. There is no cursing or anything like that; but the phrase in the title itself might offend. David can make the call to post it or not!
