Just when I thought Gold City had a solid lineup going, BOOM! Wrong! I wonder who the last line up for them was to cut 2 albums. Seems like every one they put out recently has different members.

I believe the last line-up to record more than 1 album together was the Parrack, Wilburn, Riley & Riley line-up. They did Walk The Talk & Camp Meetin’.

The last vocal lineup to cut multiple albums was Parrack/Wilburn/Riley/Riley, 2002-2003 (Camp Meetin’, Walk the Talk, Gold City Christmas). Before that, Parrack/Wilburn/Trammell/Riley were together for 5-6 years.

I almost forgot about this lineup. I would have said the Parrack, Wilburn, Trammell & Riley lineup was the last one to have more than one album to their name. Looks like Gold City Christmas was released in 2003. So it’s been going on 13 years of constantly changing lineups. Sad. One side note about the Ladd, Wilburn, Riley and Lawrence lineup. They only recorded the Heaven album. However, they did do a live DVD of the songs from the First Class album, which was recorded with the lineup of Ladd, Wilburn, Riley & Riley. So that almost counts as two albums. :-)

To be fair, a couple of those line-ups DID record multiple albums, but they were released with new vocalists after the fact. In fact, “Moment of Truth” would’ve made two albums for Ladd/Wilburn/Riley/McCune, but Jonathan left and Bruce recut his vocals. The Cobb/Taliaferro/Riley/Riley lineup cut “Collection of Favorites” and “Somebody’s Coming” before both Cobb and Taliaferro were let go, but only the Collection was released before the departures, and the latter was recut multiple times before it ever saw a release, a whole year after it was originally scheduled.

I wonder if Danny will pull that “Authentic” CD they just finished for a bit until a new lead is hired and the vocals can be redone, since it was finally put on the table just weeks before Chip resigned….
